  1. The idea of going overseas for university study is an exciting prospect for many people. But while it may offer some advantages, it is probably better to stay home because of the difficulties a student inevitably encounters living and studying in a different culture. In the course of urban development, we often find ourselves confronted with the old building problem. Some people think we should pull down the old houses and buildings in the way. However, others argue that is very rash decision to tear them down without full consideration that we have to preserve our old historic buildings.
To what extent do you agree or disagree ?
Sample answer:
Rapidly urban development often faces with a demolition of cultural endowments such as a historic architecture, unique streetscapes and traditional sites. Developers pressure to replace them because a development of new urban facilities is more important. However, it is wiser if municipalities preserve their historic assets.

IELTS Writing Task 2 – Making a guideline: Tips #1

There are 5 steps to make a guideline for writing an essay. Eventhough it spends a little time, you will get a good essay because you can address or answer the main issue and you will have main topics for each body paragraph that you will write. Because of that, it is better for you to practice these steps in your weekly practice test.
  1. Find or underline keywords in the question.
  2. Paraphrase the keywords as many as you can or remember.
  3. Find the topic based on the question.  It should be a short sentence.
  4. Make a question sentence.
  5. Answer the question. The answer will be your body of the essay.  In IELTS, it’s better for you to make 2 or 3 answer sentences and it mean that you will make 2 or 3 body paragraphs.

They are some common patterns that can be used to describe a line graph. It's better for you to remember how to use the patterns in these samples.
Tips #4:
Imports of the vegetables rose steadily until the end of June, then leveled off.
Exports of the vegetables fell dramatically throughout the first half of the year. They recovered in July, but started to fall again towards the end of the year.

Tips #1:
Exports of the garments fell dramatically in the first half of the year, but recovered slightly and remained stable from late October onwards.
Imports of the garments fluctuated, especially in the first three months of the year, but the general trend was  upwards.
